Job Description
Transport is at the core of modern society. This role supports sustainable transport and next-gen manufacturing technologies at Volvo Group by contributing to data-driven production improvements.
Purpose
Responsible for supporting daily production operations through effective data management, live-time monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce MURI, MURA, and MUDA while improving productivity and stability in assembly processes.
Main Tasks
- Assist in eliminating Muri, Mura, Muda within assembly lines.
- Manage production data with TLs and PLs; ensure accurate KPI/PI records.
- Analyze ANDON triggers and quality remarks for root-cause analysis.
- Support work-study (video analysis) to optimize process flow and reduce cycle time.
- Contribute to production digitalisation strategies.
- Support safety initiatives and risk assessments.
- Track WIP vehicles and ensure correct documentation.
- Conduct daily Gemba walks to identify abnormalities.
- Assist In-Process Quality inspections.
- Maintain data and prepare daily/weekly performance reports.
- Assist trials, validation, and engineering change implementations.
Competence Requirements
Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering with 60% marks.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Ability to interpret production & quality data.
Familiarity with lean tools – 5S, Kaizen, waste elimination.
Mindset: Continuous improvement orientation
Digital Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Soft Skills: Adaptability & learning agility
