Role Summary:

As an Area Lead Technician, you are the Subject Matter Expert (S.M.E.) for the site’s IT infrastructure. You will supervise the local technician team, manage hardware lifecycles, and ensure that the fulfillment center’s critical business systems remain operational 24/7. This is a promotable role designed for a technical leader who can anticipate site needs before they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Leadership: Supervise the local technician team to complete regional goals; train Tech 1 members on various hardware and tasks.
  • Infrastructure Management: Configure, support, and repair desktops, monitors, printers, and RF scanners; maintain network management for WiFi and Access Points.
  • Project Management: Lead local IT projects, managing time, tasks, and vendor/supplier relationships.
  • Systems Support: Partner with Systems Administrators to support DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and O365.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues involving mobile OS (Windows/Android), WiFi channeling, and cabling.
  • Documentation: Design and document facility layouts, including networking and hardware infrastructure diagrams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with desktops and servers; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ServiceNow, Avaya, Cisco Networking, and WMS applications (Manhattan, LogPro).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a related field or industry certifications preferred.
  • Physical: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maneuver throughout a large fulfillment facility.
