About the Role
As an IT Manager at Amazon, you will lead a team of IT professionals across diverse technical skill sets to deliver innovative technology support to Amazon’s Operations team — the force that fulfills customer promises millions of times each day. This role requires managing large-scale, redundant infrastructure involving fiber optic, copper, and wireless networks that support human, robotic, and mechanical operations.
From supporting fulfillment center technology to optimizing system reliability, you’ll ensure that Amazon’s operational technology infrastructure functions seamlessly to deliver customer excellence worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs and OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with management to drive continuous improvement in IT operations.
- Lead infrastructure builds for new facilities.
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily technical support activities.
- Monitor and maintain SLA performance across all IT support functions.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and process documentation.
- Oversee IT asset and inventory management.
- Support internal recognition and communication programs.
- Travel up to 30% as required.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing technical teams across multiple locations.
- 2+ years as an IT Operations Manager leading technology teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent professional/military experience.
- Proficiency in Linux or Unix systems administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of hardware architectures and system management tools.
- Experience with client/server environments and infrastructure scalability.
