About the TAS Team
Vanguard’s Trading Analytics and Strategy (TAS) team works globally across all asset classes and mandates (active and passive) to optimize trading strategies. With over $9 trillion in AUM and $15 trillion in annual trading volume, the TAS team conducts data-driven analyses and builds tools to save millions of dollars for clients through optimized execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge trading technology, analytics, and data sources.
- Conduct independent Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) to maintain and enhance processes for global trading desks.
- Resolve infrastructure and data issues related to prototype technology tools leveraged by TCA processes.
- Enhance existing models, develop new data processes, and communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Maintain deep knowledge of market microstructure and transaction cost analysis to inform research.
- Shape the future of Vanguard’s trading agenda through advanced reporting and analytics.
- Represent Vanguard effectively to both internal stakeholders and external market participants.
Qualifications:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline is required; Graduate degree or CFA/FRM is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience in quantitative finance or trading analytics.
- Technical: Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL is highly desirable.
- Market Knowledge: Strong foundation in cross-asset class investment knowledge and market microstructure.
